Paralysis (stroke)

Having a brain hemorrhage cuts the vital connections between your brain and muscles, so it's a major cause of long-term disability and almost always results in loss of mobility. However, this loss is not necessarily permanent. The most important treatment method for brain hemorrhage is physical therapy.

In fact, the early stages of recovery are particularly important when rehabilitation patients have little or no control over their affected muscles. Wherever you are in the Brain Bleeding Treatment process, your long-term progress will depend on a consistent home physical therapy regimen. Be sure to learn from your physiotherapist and doctors why home physical therapy is so beneficial for stroke survivors and what to look for when choosing a treatment method.

Back - Neck Hernia

The cause of back and neck hernia is generally the same. This is because a herniated disc occurs when the flat cartilage (disc) between the bones of the spine ruptures and the gelatin-like core of the disc leaks. A herniated disc is caused by sudden trauma or prolonged pressure on the spine.

This condition most commonly affects people between the ages of 30 and 50; Men are twice as likely to be diagnosed as women. Repetitive lifting, participating in weight-lifting sports, obesity, smoking and poor posture are risk factors for a herniated disc. The majority of herniated discs do not require surgery and respond best to physical therapy. Our physiotherapists design personalized treatment programs to help people with herniated discs regain normal movement, reduce pain, and return to their regular activities. Some of those; manual therapy, dry needle therapy, exercise therapy, electrotherapy agents.

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain is a common complaint and you should receive treatment as physical therapy or rehabilitation after surgery. Contact us to learn about the types of treatments available for different conditions that produce shoulder pain.

The shoulder is a complex ball and socket joint made up of the humerus (arm bone), scapula (shoulder blade), and clavicle (collarbone). There are many ligaments that help support the shoulder, and most muscle attachments help the shoulder move. The shoulder is a highly mobile joint that allows people to reach and move in many directions.

Shoulder pain has many different causes. General activities such as swimming or throwing a baseball can cause compression of the muscles around the shoulder or the biceps tendons. Rarely, poor posture can place increased stress on the shoulder and cause pain. Trauma, such as a fall or a traffic accident, can also damage the shoulder. Often, shoulder pain occurs for no apparent reason or specific injury.

Hip and Knee Pain

Hip and knee replacement surgery is a procedure performed to enable patients to return to their normal active lifestyles without pain. Our surgeons and physiotherapists are concerned with getting people back to their activities as quickly and safely as possible.

The day of hip and knee replacement surgery was considered a day to relax, but as more surgeons try to get patients back to activity as quickly as possible, treatment often begins the day of surgery. Patients begin simple exercise activities such as ankle pumps, leg and heel shifts.

Most of the time it will require getting out of bed, sitting in a chair, and even some walking.

Exercising regularly to restore strength and mobility to your hip and knee and gradually returning to daily activities is important for your full recovery after hip and knee replacement. Your orthopedic surgeon and physiotherapists will recommend that you exercise for 20 to 30 minutes, 2 or 3 times a day, during your early recovery.

Gait and Balance Disorder

Do you feel that your gait or balance is not what it used to be? Do you find that walking distances are getting tiring and you may be using an assistive device such as a cane or walker to get around?

Your sense of balance allows you to stand on unstable ground, do away with ground objects accurately, and stop many other daily activities without any problems.

Our balancing ability depends on three key components, including:

  • Signals from joints and muscles

  • inner ear

  • Seeing

As we get older, our reflexes slow down a bit. This makes it difficult to adapt to uneven areas such as grass, cracked pavement, gravel and stairs. Also, poor posture, weakness in the hips, ankles, and poor eyesight can further enhance poor balance.

Most people don't realize that it reduces balance until it's late and they fall. Falls are the number one cause of death from injuries in older people and also cause millions of fractures and injuries each year. Many of these can be avoided with the effects of proper physical therapy.
